Is Autotmation the destiny for the textile idustry ?
If we go back in the history of the automation in the textile industry, in the late 1980’s early 1990’s those robots where conceived to assist the worker, the reduce the labor of those. In some other cases machine the human was as- sisting the machine, in either ways the labor of the worker was reduced, also to produce more and lower the prices of production.
In a ideal world automation could be the future of the textile industry, but also we
think it can be restricted for some products depending the targeted market and available technology, we believe human cannot be fully replaced by robots, event if the actual avai- lable technologies are getting more and more precise and advanced, some robots are deve- loped to provide an exceptional detailing and precision. Even within those new advanced technologies we still think that human will still have the hand over the machine, in a way that we has human are conceit of our action. In a way that we are fully capable of control what we are producing, we know what is good and bad so we decide whether it is wearable
or not, and this is not what is happening with fully automated robots, they just follow algo- rithms produced by a le, executing lines a er line without detecting visual errors that are produced on the nal pieces. For instance I do not think that robotics are made to build some speci c products like leather cra ed items.
I believe a part of the textile industry industry will never be concerned by this automation phase we are living in. Some speci c objects will still be to sophisticate to translate into algorithms.
